With a combined total of over 40 years experience in Circus and dance, 2 Defy Gravity offers top level professional entertainment that will make any event stand out in peoples' memories! We bring strength and beauty together with danger and awe in a way most people only dream to experience! Combining the circus arts of silks, lyra, acro-balancing, trapeze, chains and fire with dance and aerial dance, we are a great addition to your next event or party! We do birthdays, weddings, private parties, nightclubs, fundraisers and any other event you can think of as both mainstage and ambient performance to generate lots of buzz about your event and get people talking!
In addition to being a performance duo, both of us are full time teachers of the aerial arts as well. If you've ever wanted to run away to the circus and learn to fly, we offer classes and private lessons as well! This is perfect for birthday parties, bachelorette parties or other small to medium group activity!

Since 2012 he, with some help from Marissa, has been building a school to teach the aerial arts to adults in Northeast Minneapolis. The program is focused on developing skills through progressions from the absolute beginner all the way to the professional level and has had fun including focus on performance and character.
Marissa Dorschner has been training as an aerialist since she was bit by the circus bug at Circus Juventas (then Circus of the Stars) in 1998. Since then she has trained under the guidance of international coaches in several aerial acts including solo and triple trapeze, flying trapeze, triangle trapeze, lyra, silks, and acro-balancing. In 2007 she met Cade, and they began training together as 2 Defy Gravity.
Since graduating from the Circus Juventas youth program, Marissa has continued training and performing professionally throughout the Twin Cities area and beyond. In 2010 she had the opportunity to travel abroad as a performer on tour in Mongolia with Mission Manduhai. She proudly now works as a coach at Circus Juventas, joining her passion with working with youth to her love of the circus arts. In the fall of 2015, she got accepted to the U of M to earn her masters degree in Youth Development leadership.
